The African Institute of Environmental Professionals (AIEP) is an independent organization affiliated for certification purposes. It is headquartered in Nigeria, and conducts environmental training throughout the African continent.  POCEMA Ltd. is presently the representative of AIEP in Africa. AIEP’s Executive Director is Dr. Ogbonna F. Joel, who received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Science and Technology at Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. He has wide exposure and training in Environmental Technology and management for the oil and gas industry.

 

Dr. Joel is Chartered Professional Engineer, a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, Certified Environmental Specialist with World Safety Organization and Registered Environmental Professional with NREP among others.

AIEP TRAINING FOCUS

 

POCEMA Ltd. Conducts approximately 42 hours of comprehensive refresher workshop/training to cover the areas as highlighted listed below. After that, a 4-hour written exam is administered by an independent university professor. The questions are tailored to suit the candidate’s grade of certification based on experience and qualification.

Certification Examinations

 

Certification candidates may select from several different environmental certifications.  All certifications are based on an educational requirement, work experience requirement and written examination.
